Compared with the air cleaning system of ball mill, the roller mill has the advantages of high efficiency, high grinding efficiency, simple operation, easy control, low noise, high operating rate, concentrated crushing, grinding, drying and selection of powder in one. The roller mill is always used for raw materials and cement grinding, also applied to pulverized coal preparation in the new dry production.

The main advantages of roller mill in coal preparation system are as follows:
(1) It’s widely used for a variety of coal. The low corrosion, sub bituminous coal, anthracite coal, lignite with low moisture content all can be grinded.
(2) The system is simple. It intergrates the concentrated crushing, grinding, drying, selection of powder and other processes in one process, which greatly simplifying the process, with convenient layout and small area ( 50%-70% of ball milling system), small building space ( 50%-60% of ball milling system). It can be arranged outdoor, which can save construction investment.
   (3) The grinding efficiency is high, which can greatly reduce the grinding energy consumption. compared with the roller mill, the power consumption for grinding is only 50%-60% of the roller mill.
(4) It’s with the great drying capacity. The hot wind can inburst into readily, especially using the flue gas at the low temperature from the kiln tail in the new dry process. If the grinding ability is matching, all the waste gas can enter into the mill, the corresponding dry hard is 6%-8%. If apply the hot blast stove for high temperature wind, the raw material can be dried up to 20% moisture.
(5) The abrasion is small and service life of wear-resistant parts are long, which is generally up to 7000-12000h hours or more. The operating rate of equipment is high, up to 90%.
(6) During the whole operation period, the production capacity and fineness are stable. The production of the wear resistance parts in late period is only decreased by 5%, and there is no change for the fineness.
(7) Low noise. Since there is no direct contact between the grinding roller and millstone, no metal impact sound, the noise is at least 10dB lower than the ball mill.
(8) It has a good adaptability for the "three pieces of raw coal (gangue, iron, wood)" .
(9) It adopts the unique external force structure, running smoothly, with a small vibration.
