1. The function of the cooler
The high-temperature materials produced by rotary kiln are often subject to be cooled by the cooler to a certain temperature, then it could be transported, stored and further dealt with. As required, the cooler takes in a lot of heat that carried by high-temperature materials with air. The combustion air in the kiln is preheated to a higher temperature, thus strengthening the calcination and reducing the heat consumption.
The company has different types of cooling machine, in addition to the monocular cooler with rotary cylinder and the above-mentioned multiple-tube cooler, grate cooler for bulk materials is also adopted (reciprocating grate, rotary grate, vibrating grate) annular cooler, vertical cooler and cooler for powder materials and cyclone cooler.
2. Working principle
The cooling machine’s cylinder and horizontal plane have 3.5% to 5% (sinusoidal) slope, the whole cylinder is supported on the respective roller by two wheels. On the axial direction of the cylinder, support and thrust device prevents the coolers’ run up and down; The transmission process is that variable frequency motor takes small gear in rotation driven by reducer and supporting shaft coupling. Small gear is engaged with the fixed big gear in the middle part of the cylinder. Finally, the cylinder is in rotary motion driven by large ring gear.
The cooling process is that high temperature ceramic particles from the rotary kiln get into the cylinder through the feeding devices. Since the cylinder makes slowly rotary movement in an inclined state, therefore, when the ceramic particles make rotary movement with cylinder, it moves from top to bottom in the axial direction. Therefore, ceramic particles make heat exchange with the air to be sufficiently cooled to a predetermined temperature, the materials after cooling are discharged from the discharge device.
3.The formation of single-cylinder cooler
Compared with rotary kiln, single-barrel cooler is also installed with cylinder, having Lining bricks, rolling track, support and thrust device and ring gear transmission, and pusher screw, dispersing device. According to requirement, machine head and tail are installed with feeding and discharging device, with necessary sealing device at each point. The different point is that the main heat transfer device is the dispersing device. Dispersing device uniformly lay at the cylinder cross-section when rotating the cylinder, thus favorable to exchange heat with the airflow. To improve the cooling effect, water could be sprayed outside the barrel.
Each cylinder of the multi-cylinder cooler is the same with the single-barrel coolers. Each cylinder is fastened on the kiln shell through two pivots. Materials get into the cooling tube from the outlet of the cooling zone on the kiln shell. Whether materials change direction when materials flow into the cooling cylinder, multi-cylinder cooler could be divided into downstream type and counter flow.
Single-cylinder coolers have common problem, such as poor cooling effect, large water consumption, and dispersing device and cylinder wear faster. But because Monocular cooling machine has wide adaptability of materials, thus not having the disadvantages of large air volume containing dust, having a certain position in the adoption of non-ferrous metallurgy kiln.
