Rotary kiln produces cement clinker, whose production could be divided into wet, semi-dry, dry, dry process etc, however, the basic process of cement clinker is same, namely physical and chemical reaction’ required condition in cement clinker’s forming process is same, but using different production methods. As the burning equipment of cement clinker, rotary kiln has solely responsible for the cement clinker production. Rotary kiln has the following five functions.
One. The rotary kiln is an inclined rotary cylinder (The slope is generally 3% to 5%), raw material is added from the end of the cylinder (namely kiln back end), in the continuous rotary motion of the kiln, the material is from high-end to low end (namely kiln’s gradual movement),thus the kiln is a delivery device.
Two. The rotary kiln is a combustion device. Fine pulverized coal is injected into the kiln from the kiln front air blower, the heat generated by combustion transfers in three basic ways: radiation, convection and conduction heat, transferring the heat to the material. As the fuel burning equipment, rotary kiln has a broad space and thermal field, providing enough air. The excellent combustion device ensures full combustion of fuel, providing the necessary heat for the clinker.
Three. Rotary kiln has the heat exchange functions. The relatively uniform temperature field is inside the kiln, meeting cement clinker heat transfer requirements in various stages of the process, especially the generation of alite mineral requirements.
Four. The rotary kiln has chemical reaction function. In formation process of clinker, a series of physical and chemical reactions exist, rotary kiln could be divided into phases to meet the heat, temperature requirements for different mineral, and meeting the requirements of the time, which is the ideal chemical reactors.
Five. Degrading and using wastes. Due to the rotary kiln has a high temperature field and long residence time of airflow toxic thermal field, it could degrade chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries discharged hazardous waste. Meanwhile, the vast majority of heavy metal elements in the clinker could form a stable salt, avoiding the garbage incinerator’ secondary pollution.
