Electronic belt scale is a new type of continuous weighing equipment. It has the advantages of simple equipment and convenient weighing, and is widely used in metering and automatic batching systems in the process of conveying solid materials on belt conveyors.
The belt scale is a measuring device that continuously weighs materials when the belt conveyor transports solid bulk materials. It can measure the instantaneous flow and cumulative flow of materials passing through the belt conveyor without interrupting the material flow.
For a long time, the measurement of materials has mainly been carried out by static batch weighing, such as using various bench scales, floor scales, hopper scales, etc. This weighing method requires a special weighing process to weigh the material in a static state. For processes that require continuous operation for large-scale production, batch weighing of solid materials destroys the continuity of the process, which is often not allowed. With the expansion of production scale, the amount of materials transported by belt conveyors reaches hundreds of tons, thousands of tons or even tens of thousands of tons per hour. In this case, only belt scale weighing is often a realistic and feasible solution, and using Static weighing is very uneconomical because it requires the addition of huge weighing equipment and takes too much time.
The belt scale occupies a small space and is relatively inexpensive, so it is suitable for installation on various types of belt conveyors and can be used to measure dry powdery materials such as coal powder from large ores. It can even be said that as long as the materials can be transported by belt conveyors, they can be weighed by belt scales.
From a usage perspective, the advantages of belt scale operation can be summarized in two words: continuous and automatic.
(1) Continuous
The belt scale can complete the weighing process while transporting materials. That is to say, as long as the belt conveyor is transporting materials, the weighing process is also going on at the same time. Weighing methods such as static hopper scales using traditional scales not only interrupt the continuous production process, but also may cause material segregation, classification, hanging materials, blockage, etc. when materials are fed into and discharged from the hopper. question. By comparison, you can see that the belt scale is "weighing while delivering", while the static scale is "stopped and weighed", so the efficiency of the weighing process of the belt scale is much higher than that of the static scale. This method of continuously carrying out the weighing process under dynamic conditions is the most important feature of the belt scale. From this feature, continuous weighing technology expands the concept of "weighing instrument" in the traditional sense.
(2) Automatic
From the earliest products to the latest products, the actual weighing process of belt scales does not require human intervention. The belt scale can automatically accumulate the total weight of materials passing through during this period at the end of any time period such as each shift, day, or week. The belt scale can also automatically start or stop the cumulative action of the scale when the belt conveyor starts or stops.
